Our Experts – many of them award-winning guidebook writers and travel journalists – now covers more than 100 key cities and resorts around the world. The Experts have written detailed reviews of their favourite hotels and restaurants, as well as giving invaluable advice on attractions, shopping beaches, nightlife, and insider tips to save you money and make sure you have the best time on holiday.
Experts check that information constantly. Unlike a guidebook, which is out of date within weeks of publication, you can be sure that the advice from Experts is bang up-to-the-minute.

While Expert advice and insider knowledge is invaluable, we realise many travellers have inspiring advice that they want to share. Simonseeks can help here too.
We have published some 2,000 Community Guides, by both amateur and professional writers and we add to them every day. They are of the highest standard – all guides are vetted by our editorial and moderating team to ensure they meet the Simonseeks quality threshold. But our writers don’t just do this for love – they are equal partners and benefit from our unique 50/50 revenue-share arrangements, which mean they make money out of their writing too.
We are always looking for travellers who can write with passion, enthusiasm and first-hand knowledge, and as long as guides which we are offered meet our quality standards, anyone can write for the site and share in the sales commission or advertising revenue generated as a result of their guide. Writers categorise their stories by trip type as well as by destination – so when you come to search, you can be really specific about what kind of guide you are after, whether it’s ‘Romance in Paris’ or ‘Adventure in Australia’. If you want to narrow things down even more, you can filter by budget too. And if you’re not sure where you fancy going, that’s simple too: just let us inspire you!
The story behind Simonseeks
Simonseeks is the brainchild of Simon Nixon, founder of Moneysupermarket.com and Travelsupermarket.com. Simon floated these businesses on the stock market in 2007 for £850 million – still the largest internet floatation in Europe. Still majority shareholder in Moneysupermarket, Simon is now focusing his energies on building Simonseeks into the most successful quality travel guide site in the world. The inspiration? His own passion for travel and frustration at being unable to find good-quality travel guides to suit his personal travel requirements.
