Expert review of Ogmore Farm Riding Centre
I’m not the most confident horse rider, but several experienced riders I know believe this to be one of the best in the country. Ogmore Farm is a long established stable that caters for all abilities, shapes and sizes. A family run affair, they guarantee an exhilarating, relaxing and sociable trek.
With a broad mixture of steed, from steady and reliable to a more challenging ride, you will find the right four legged friend to enjoy a couple of hours with. Once aboard, the ride will leave the farm, cross the river by Ogmore Castle and meander along the estuary.
As the estuary meets the sea, you peep over the sand dunes for your first glimpses of the wonderful wide open beach. Here the ride divides; more able riders head to the sea and the water break. A long and steady canter rewards with some horseplay in the sea before climbing up what is believed to be one of the largest sand dunes in Europe. The trek then leads deep into some woods before you arrive back at the farm... And you do all of this without once crossing a road or meeting any other traffic.
The two hour treks are £35. The final trek of the day at 3pm is one hour and will cost you £25.
