Best for Fun - Expert review of Yankee Stadium
Taking my infant son to Yankee Stadium for his first baseball game may be one of our family’s most anticipated events and it's not because I am a baseball nut (though I do love the Yankees). It’s actually because it is an amazing New York experience sitting under the lights on a balmy night or on a bright sunny day, if it’s a day game, enjoying popcorn and hot dogs along with a cold beer with thousands of other cheering New Yorkers who are having a great time - well, when we win, which is often. And when they play Frank Sinatra’s 'New York, New York' at the end with everyone singing along, I get positively emotional. It’s hands down one of New York’s best experiences.
Since the completion of the new stadium in 2009, ticket prices for seats to see a Yankee game have gone through the roof. Choice seats can run a family of four upwards of US$800. Still, deals can be had via stubhub.com or at the ticket office on the day of the game. The bleachers are still the best option for anyone on a budget.
