A one-stop-spot for the best in American Art.

The Whitney boasts one of the greatest collections of 20th century American art in a striking Marcel Breuer building on Madison Avenue. Highlights include top names like Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keefe and Roy Lichtenstein, but the rotating exhibitions of contemporary artists always offer a surprising discovery or two.

Price advice: 

General admission is US$18 and US$12 for visitors aged 19–25 and 62 and over. Under 18s are free.
