Expert review of American Museum of Natural History
New York City has a plethora of great museums but one of the best in the American Museum of Natural History. Founded in 1869, it has long held locals and visitors enthrall due to its fantastic science and cultural exhibits. You could spend a whole day here and not feel its full scope. Being an astronomy lover, I start at Hayden Planetarium. The public programs here are some of the best in the museum and who doesn't love a space show? The museum has one of the largest paleontology exhibits in the world, with more than 3 million specimen. The dinosaurs on display are mind-blowing behemoths from our past. The Hall of Human Origins as well as the Mammal Halls shouldn't be missed. Families will small children will delight in the many interactive education displays.
General admission for adults is $16, $9 for children under 12. Students and senior citizens, $12.
