This is Lisbon's omnipresent Moorish fortress.

Looming, omnipresent over the city, the castle is visible from every part of Lisbon. Dating back to the 5th century, tourists can snoop around the dusk orange ruins and gain historic insights in the Olissiponia media centre. I like to stroll up here around sunset when the amber-toned castle illuminates in the dusk-orange light.

Price advice: 

Entry is five euros, and free for children under 10.

Expert tips: 
Lit-up at night, the castle can be seen from most of the city below and is a good marker point should you get lost.
