Lanzarote's most beautiful beach is heaven on earth.
I have long had a soft spot for this beach – accessible only by dirt track or by boat – and always come here to really get away from it all. Punta del Papagayo is actually six beaches in one – all of which have fine, golden sand, clear waters and uninterrupted views across the water to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. There are no parasols, sunloungers or beach bars here - just tranquility and unadulterated nature.
Expert tips:
Bring a picnic, water and plenty of sunscreen.
Regular boat trips lead from Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen.
