Art meets science at this sleek modern museum complex.
Two museums for the price of one, SantralIstanbul includes an extensive modern art museum as well as an interactive Museum of Energy – set, fittingly, in the old power station that once provided juice to most of central Istanbul. The complex is part of an attractive university campus with a well-kept lawn and some great cafes.
Price advice:
Regular admission is 7 lira; kids 12 and under get in free.
Expert tips:
Catch the free shuttle bus (it’ll say Istanbul Bilgi University) from in front of the Atatürk Culture Center in Taksim Square. It runs every 30 minutes from 8.30am to 9pm.
