Best for Romance - Expert review of La Mortella
Ischia's magical garden, with musical concerts too.
Designed by Russell Page (a famous British landscape gardener) and completed by Susana, the wife of composer Sir William Walton, La Mortella is a wonderfully luxurious garden that features lily ponds, enormous tree ferns and, best of all, music concerts that take place at weekends.
Price advice:
Admission is 12 euros to the gardens only and 20 euros for concerts. Arrive early if you're coming for a concert so that you can be sure of a seat.
Expert tips:
Arrive 30 minutes early to get a seat.
Take the circular bus from Lacco Ameno to Forio.
