Expert review of Osteria Morini
The Italian region of Emilia-Romagna is considered a culinary mecca but few Italian restaurants in the United States feature its soulful cuisine. Enter Osteria Morini, a Soho restaurant that specializes in the rustic flavors of the region. If you want to try Italian cuisine the way it should be enjoyed, head here.
Italian, and specializing in the gastronomic Emilia-Romagna region - the birthplace of prosciutto, mortadella, parmigiano and balsamic vinegar. The Italian-centric wine list offers innovative choices from lesser-known regions such as Lombardy, Umbria and Le Marche.
Sliced meats are a focus here and since the region is known as the birthplace of prosciutto, diners will love the variety here. The restaurant also focuses on grilled meats and pasta such as raviolini with wild game ragu. My friends loved the grilled duck skewers as well.
Most of the space features items from an 18th-century Italian farmhouse. These elements keep with the rustic nature of the food so the space is at once inviting and comfortable. Diners of every ilk can be seen throughout the restaurant. It's not just a place for foodies.
Excellent. Like many Italian restaurants, it's exceedingly friendly and attentive.
In the heart of Soho. The area is teeming with restaurants but Osteria Morini stands out. It's easy to get to by bus and subway.
Dinner for two runs to about $80-$90; lunch is less expensive.
