Expert review of Skina
Having recently won its first Michelin star, Skina, a slang Andaluz way of saying ‘corner’, is becoming increasingly popular. I’ve been a big fan of the restaurant and its chef, Daniel Rosado, for several years though.
The Mediterranean fusion food is what it’s all about at Skina. The menu is short but its quality is undeniable. There’s a tasting menu, which I’d highly recommend so you can sample a bit of everything. The imaginatively-presented dishes are, where possible, made using Andalusian, seasonal ingredients. My favourites include the sardine bruschettas and red fruit timbale.
The square, minimalist dining room, with sheer black furniture and white walls, has room for 16 diners, spread across four tables. It attracts a high-end, urban, professional crowd.
The well-trained and trendy staff are spot on.
It's a traditional white-washed corner building in the middle of the Old Town.
The tasting menu and a mid-range bottle of wine comes to around 80 euros.
