Best beachfront restaurant in the resort; lovely views and friendly service.
I took my father here straight from the airport and it was a wonderful 'landing' meal. We sat chatting for several hours over our fish and seafood lunch with the cool blue sea as the perfect backdrop.
Food and drink:
We went for two of the daily specials: fresh sardines and prawn risotto and a salad with goats' cheese. The sardines – fresh, unadulterated; just as they should be – were presented in suitable rustic style. The risotto was wonderfully cheesy and creamy, although it was a bit nouvelle cuisine style for the casual setting, and the salad rather average. The large menu features a pretty standard selection (for traditional restaurants on the island) of meat, fish and salads, but the restaurant also bills itself as a pizzeria, and the pizzas, I hear, are very good.
Recommended dishes:
I don't think you can go wrong with one of the daily specials – that's if you like fish. Otherwise the pizza is a good fall back, particularly for kids.
Ambience:
The beachfront location and terrace overlooking the water is the main draw here, even more than the food, which is good rather than spectacular.
Service:
Our lovely waitress couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. She recommended a local dry white, which fitted the bill perfectly.
Location:
It's on the edge of a shopping centre, in the centre of the resort, next to the seafront promenade.
Price advice:
Prices are pretty average – between 10 and 15 euros for a main course.
Tables to book:
The inside seating area is a bit gloomy. This restaurant is one of the more popular mid options in the resort, so it you want a table on the terrace, it is advisable to book in the peak summer months.
