Enjoy a time trip in Berlin's oldest still-standing restaurant.
This no-frills restaurant has a charm all of its own, with antique decor and a menu that focuses unapologetically on German classics.

Zur Letzen Instanz, reportedly Berlin’s oldest restaurant, serves traditional hearty German cuisine in large portions. There’s no beer, but there is a wine list.

The restaurant’s specialty is Eisbein (pork knuckle).
Ambience:
Zur Letzen Stanz is unbeatable for historic ambiance. It is housed in a completely restored medieval building dating from 1561, with preserved original interior and annexes featuring old paintings, photographs and furniture - including a 200-year-old tiled stove which Napoleon once sat on. Other notable guests have included Mikhail Gorbachev in 1989 and Jacques Chirac in 2003. The two restaurants consist of a series of rooms and are linked by a Baroque staircase.

Service is always friendly and cheerful, although staff can be rushed at times.
