Best for Gourmets - Expert review of Weinbar Rutz
Take my word for it - Weinbar Rutz is perfect for serious food and wine enthusiasts. This is the place where Michelin-starred chef Marco Mueller creates gourmet dishes of exquisite flavours to match a wine list that's nothing less than legendary. One of Berlin's culinary highlights.
The menu is available a la carte or in four, five or six-courses. Each menu is paired with wine from the bar’s 900 international wine labels, which include notable vintages from Austria and Germany. Try the ‘surprise’ menu and hope that it includes the wild pigeon breast and Perigord truffle soup, confit of young salmon with avruga caviar and chocolate soufflé for dessert. Mueller supports regional farmers and uses their less than usual products, such as the wool pig. You can also purchase any of the wines sampled with your meal.
The restaurant features soft lighting and sleek lines but is not overly formal. You can also dine on the terrace or downstairs bar. In the summer try out the lovely balcony, surrounded by herbs and grapevines contributed by famous German winemakers.
Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the wine and cuisine.
