Expert review of Tapas24
One of the new breed of gastro tapas bars to hit the city, this one has acclaimed chef Carles Abellan at the helm (see also Comerç 24) and is based on the sort of bar that has been sadly lacking for the past couple of decades.
All the classics are present, from patatas bravas to ensaladilla (Russian salad), along with some house specialities like scrambled egg with black pudding. I can’t resist the McFoie Burger – a delicious little slab of beef with foie gras in a bun.
Peak hours can be a bit rammed, better to stick to British eating times (before 2pm, and 10pm at night).
Mostly very personable and attentive.
It’s just off the Passeig de Gràcia, so it makes for a useful sightseeing pitstop.
Sharing a few tapas with a couple of glasses of wine, your bill will probably come to about 20 euros for two.
